Intergranulaarista is a Finnish term that translates to "intergranular" in English. In materials science and metallurgy, it refers to phenomena occurring at the boundaries between individual grains within a polycrystalline material. These grain boundaries are interfaces where the crystal lattice orientation changes abruptly.

Intergranular phenomena can be varied. For instance, intergranular fracture is a type of brittle fracture where cracks propagate along grain boundaries rather than through the grains themselves.
