Interepisode content can serve various purposes: bridging narrative gaps, recapping earlier events, providing world-building detail, or presenting supplementary material such as creator interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, concept art, or in-universe messages. In streaming contexts, interepisode elements may appear as short featurettes, bumper segments, or recap clips that fill the interlude between episodes in a binge.

Television and streaming series may publish interepisodes as short videos, podcast episodes, or written posts; video games or comics may use interludes between chapters or arcs.
