Inhalatoritüüpe refers to the different types of devices used to deliver medication in the form of a mist or aerosol directly into the lungs. The primary goal of an inhaler is to ensure that the medication reaches the airways effectively, providing rapid relief or long-term management of symptoms.

One common type is the metered-dose inhaler (MDI). MDIs contain a propellant that pushes a measured dose of medication out of the device when the canister is pressed. Nebulizers are a third category. These devices transform liquid medication into a fine mist that can be inhaled over a period of several minutes, often while the patient breathes normally. Nebulizers are typically used for infants, young children, or individuals who have difficulty using MDIs or DPIs. They are generally less portable than other inhaler types and require a power source.

The choice of inhaler type depends on the patient's age, ability to use the device correctly, the type of medication prescribed, and the specific respiratory condition being treated. Healthcare professionals play a vital role in selecting the most appropriate inhaler and instructing patients on its proper use to maximize therapeutic benefits and minimize side effects.
