Induktiojännitteitä refers to induced voltages in electrical circuits. This phenomenon, also known as electromagnetic induction, occurs when a changing magnetic field interacts with a conductor. According to Faraday's law of induction, the magnitude of the induced voltage is directly proportional to the rate of change of the magnetic flux through the circuit.

This principle is fundamental to the operation of many electrical devices. Transformers, for instance, rely on induction to change voltage levels. A changing current in a primary coil creates a fluctuating magnetic field, which then induces a voltage in a secondary coil. The ratio of turns in the coils determines whether the voltage is stepped up or down.

Induction is also responsible for the generation of electricity in power plants. Rotating coils within a magnetic field, or rotating magnets near stationary coils, continuously change the magnetic flux, thereby inducing a voltage that can be harnessed as electrical power.

In everyday electronics, induction can sometimes be an unwanted effect, leading to electromagnetic interference (EMI). Unshielded wires or components can pick up fluctuating magnetic fields from nearby sources, inducing unwanted voltages that can disrupt signal integrity. Proper shielding and circuit design are employed to minimize these parasitic induction effects.
