Inceleniyor is a form used in the Turkish language, derived from the root verb incelemek, which means “to examine,” “to scrutinize,” or “to study.” The word is the present continuous (progressive) aspect of that verb and literally translates to “is being examined” or “is currently being studied.” It is formed by combining the auxiliary verb olmak in its present tense, the infinitive suffix -mek, and the continuous suffix -yor, applied to the root ince- and a subject suffix appropriate to the speaker’s perspective.

This construction is part of a wider series of Turkish progressive forms, such as görülüyor (“is visible”) and yazılıyor (“is being written”), and it conveys an ongoing action. The suffix -yor attaches to the verb stem, indicating that the action is taking place at the moment of speaking or is a habitual activity. The indefinite pronoun or third‑person neutral subject can be omitted, making the phrase available for general statements, news reporting, or scientific reports.

In written and spoken Turkish, inceleniyor often appears in academic, medical, legal, or investigative contexts. For instance, “tıbbi rapor inceleniyor” means “the medical report is being examined” and “olay inceleniyor” translates to “the incident is under investigation.” It can also be used in broader sense, such as evaluating a policy or reviewing a document, by saying “bu öneri inceleniyor.”
