immunhämolytischen
Immunhämolytischen refers to a process in which the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys red blood cells, leading to their premature breakdown. This condition is also known as immune-mediated hemolytic anemia (IMHA). The immune system normally distinguishes between the body's own cells and foreign invaders. However, in IMHA, antibodies are produced that target specific antigens on the surface of red blood cells. These antibodies can either directly trigger the destruction of red blood cells by immune cells or activate the complement system, a cascade of proteins that can also lead to cell lysis.
There are several potential causes for immunhämolytischen. It can be idiopathic, meaning the cause is unknown.
