Imetamis, also known as anoroectocin analog, is a medication used to treat irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C). It is a seco-iris-pure oligopeptide agonist, meaning it stimulates the release of certain hormones in the body that help regulate bowel movements and alleviate symptoms of constipation.

Imetamis is administered orally, typically in the form of a capsule or powder for suspension. The recommended dosage for adults is two capsules or one teaspoon of the powder taken orally, once daily, in the morning. The medication begins to take effect within a few days of starting treatment, with symptom relief lasting up to 12 days after the last dose.

The exact mechanism of imetamis is not fully understood, but it is believed to involve the stimulation of gastrointestinal hormones such as guanylin and uroguanylin, which help to increase the movement of food through the digestive system and stimulate the expansion of the colon.
