ihmisille

Ihmisille is a contemporary Finnish musical ensemble founded in 2012 by vocalist Aino Korhonen and guitarist Jari Mäkelä. The group originated in the city of Turku, where the duo were students of the Turku Music Academy, and quickly gained recognition for blending traditional folk motifs with modern electronic production. Their songwriting often explores themes of identity, nature, and urban life, drawing lyrical influence from the Finnish national epic Kalevala as well as from contemporary social issues.

The band released its debut self‑titled EP in 2013, which was produced by the well‑known Finnish producer Mikael Kallio. The EP received favorable reviews from the national press, and its single "Havainnot" received regular radio play on YleX. In 2015 the group followed up with their first full-length album, "Lähteä", which charted at number six on the Finnish Albums Chart and was praised for its experimental sound palette that combined acoustic guitars with synthesized textures.

Ihmisille has performed at major Finnish festivals including Ruisrock and the Pohjois-Perä festival, as well as international events in Sweden, Norway, and Germany. The group is also noted for its collaborative projects with visual artists and experimental dance companies, often producing multimedia performances that extend beyond traditional concert formats. Their collaborative spirit and willingness to cross artistic boundaries have established Ihmisille as a notable presence within Finland’s contemporary music scene.
