Højre, in Danish and closely related Scandinavian usage, refers to the political right or right-wing ideology. The opposite concept is venstre, meaning left.

Today, center-right politics in Denmark is organized under the Det Konservative Folkeparti (Conservative People’s Party), rather than a party simply called Højre.

In Norway, Høyre is the name of the main centre-right party. Founded in the 19th century, it has been one of the country’s major political forces and has led government in several periods. It typically advocates market-oriented policies, moderate welfare arrangements, and pragmatic governance.
