Höyrystymisjäähdytysputki, often referred to as a heat pipe, is a passive heat transfer device that utilizes a phase change process to move thermal energy. It consists of a sealed tube containing a working fluid. When one end of the tube, the evaporator, is heated, the working fluid vaporizes. This vapor then travels to the cooler end of the tube, the condenser, where it condenses back into a liquid, releasing its latent heat. The liquid then returns to the evaporator, often via capillary action within a wick structure lining the inside of the tube, completing the cycle. This continuous cycle allows for very efficient heat transfer with a minimal temperature difference between the evaporator and condenser. Höyrystymisjäähdytysputki are highly effective because they can transfer large amounts of heat with very little pressure drop and no moving parts, making them reliable and low-maintenance.
