Hårdvaruuppsättning refers to the process of installing and configuring the physical components of a computer system. This typically involves connecting various hardware devices such as the central processing unit (CPU), motherboard, random-access memory (RAM), storage drives (hard disk drives or solid-state drives), graphics card, power supply unit, and input/output devices like a keyboard and mouse. The motherboard acts as the central hub, facilitating communication between all these components.

The initial setup usually begins with assembling the core components inside the computer case. This includes mounting the motherboard, installing the CPU and RAM onto the motherboard, and connecting the storage drives and graphics card. Once the internal components are in place, the power supply unit is installed and connected to provide electricity to all parts. External connections are then made, such as plugging in the monitor, keyboard, and mouse to the appropriate ports on the motherboard or graphics card.

After the physical connections are made, the system needs to be powered on for the first time to verify that all hardware is recognized. This often involves entering the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) or UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) settings to ensure components are detected and configured correctly. Finally, the operating system is installed onto the storage drive, which then allows the user to interact with the computer and utilize the installed hardware. Software drivers specific to each hardware component may also need to be installed for optimal performance and functionality.
