hävetyö

Hävetyö is a Finnish term that appears in some professional and administrative contexts. The word combines hävitä ("to disappear" or "to destroy") with työ ("work"), giving a sense of destruction or disposal work. Because it is not a universally standardized term, its exact meaning is determined by context.

In archival and information management contexts, hävetyö often refers to planned activities for destroying or erasing records that are no longer needed or that must be protected from access, in line with data protection laws and retention schedules. In environmental and waste management, it can denote the safe disposal or destruction of obsolete or hazardous materials. In construction, demolition, and site clearance, hävetyö describes the removal and disposal phase of a project.
