Hydrobromofluorocarbons (HBFCs) are a class of chemicals that contain hydrogen, bromine, fluorine, and carbon atoms. In recent years, there has been a shift towards the use of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) as alternatives to HBFCs. HFCs do not contain bromine and do not deplete the ozone layer. However, HFCs are potent greenhouse gases, contributing to global warming. The search for alternatives to both HBFCs and HFCs continues, with a focus on reducing their environmental impact.
