hommikust

Hommikust is the elative singular form of the Estonian noun hommik, meaning morning. In Estonian grammar, the elative case expresses origin or starting point, which gives hommikust the sense of “from the morning.”

The form is commonly used in time expressions to indicate when something begins or from what point in time it continues. It appears most often in fixed phrases such as hommikust alates or hommikust peale, which correspond to English “from the morning onwards” or “starting in the morning.”
