Hipotalamusu is a term that appears in a small body of online sources and speculative discussions as a supposed brain region related to the hypothalamus. It is not recognized in standard neuroanatomy references, and its existence is unverified.

Etymology and naming: The form resembles the word hypothalamus with an added 'u', which may reflect a transliteration error, regional spelling variation, or a fictional coinage. Because of this, many authors treat hipotalamusu as a misspelling rather than a distinct structure.

Proposed anatomy and function: In non-peer-reviewed materials, hipotalamusu is described as a small cluster of neurons near the hypothalamus, with proposed roles in autonomic and endocrine regulation, circadian timing, or thermoregulation. However there is no anatomical evidence, no consensus on location, and no functional data in reputable journals.

Status: The term is extremely uncommon in scientific discourse and more frequently appears in speculative fiction or online lore.
