Hermostoperäisiä is a Finnish term that translates to "nerve endings" or "nerve fibers" and refers to the terminal parts of nerve cells, known as neurons. These structures are crucial for transmitting signals within the nervous system and to other tissues in the body. Each neuron consists of a cell body, dendrites, and an axon. The axon is a long projection that carries electrical impulses away from the cell body, and it branches out into numerous terminal endings called hermostoperäisiä.
