hergbroen
Hergbroen is a public herb garden located in the historic district of Helsingør, Denmark. The garden was founded in 1893 by a consortium of local botanists and horticultural societies who aimed to preserve native Danish herbs and provide a research facility for medicinal plant studies. It occupies approximately 1.2 hectares and contains a curated collection of over 400 herb species, many of which are indigenous to the Nordic region. The walkways of the garden are laid out to reflect traditional Scandinavian horticultural design, with raised beds and native stone edging.
In addition to its botanical collections, Hergbroen houses a small greenhouse complex that supports the cultivation
Hergbroen has long played a role in community outreach. It partners with local schools for environmental education
