Heptuple is a term used to denote sevenfold or, in some contexts, a seven-element collection. In mathematics, it is often used as a synonym for a 7-tuple, an ordered sequence consisting of seven elements.

The basic idea extends the concept of a k-tuple to k = 7. A 7-tuple is typically written as (a1, a2, a3, a4, a5, a6, a7), where each ai is drawn from a specified set or type. More generally, if A1, A2, ..., A7 are sets, a 7-tuple is an element of their Cartesian product A1 × A2 × ... × A7. The order of the components matters, and repetition of elements is allowed unless stated otherwise. If all seven components come from the same set A, the 7-tuple is an element of A^7, and the total number of possible 7-tuples is |A|^7 when A is finite.

Terminology varies. The term heptuple appears in more formal or mathematical writing, while septuple is another accepted form, and sevenfold is a more general, less technical descriptor. In many contexts, especially outside pure mathematics, the phrase “seven-tuple” or “sevenfold” may be preferred for clarity.

In practice, a heptuple serves as a basic data-structuring construct, enabling the organization of seven related values, such as coordinates in seven-dimensional space, seven-tuple records in databases, or parameter lists in programming languages.
