Granuloblastisia is a medical term that describes a condition characterized by an increase in the number of granulocytes in the blood. Granulocytes are a type of white blood cell that includes neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils. These cells play a crucial role in the immune system, particularly in combating infections and inflammatory responses.

An elevated count of granulocytes, known as granulocytosis, can be indicative of several underlying medical issues. Common causes include bacterial infections, where the body ramps up production of neutrophils to fight the invaders.
