glossarides
Glossarides are a class of naturally occurring organic compounds that are essentially glycosides of aromatic alcohols. This means they consist of a sugar molecule (a glycone) covalently bonded to an aromatic alcohol molecule (an aglycone). The sugar moiety is typically a monosaccharide, such as glucose, but disaccharides and other oligosaccharides can also be present. The aromatic alcohol part of the molecule is responsible for many of the characteristic properties of glossarides.
These compounds are found in various plant species and are often associated with their aroma and flavor
Glossarides often play a role in the plant's defense mechanisms against herbivores and pathogens. Their biological
