Gearmotors are electromechanical devices that combine an electric motor with a gearbox. The primary function of a gearmotor is to reduce the output speed of the electric motor and increase its torque. This is achieved by using a series of gears within the gearbox that mesh with each other. The electric motor, typically an AC or DC motor, provides the initial rotational power. This power is then transmitted through the gear train, which progressively reduces the speed of rotation while multiplying the rotational force, or torque.
