The long-term clinical significance of this deposition is still under investigation, and current research has not established a direct link to neurological symptoms. However, there have been reports of patients experiencing symptoms such as headaches, memory problems, and skin sensations, though these are not definitively proven to be caused by gadolinium deposition.

The risk of gadolinium-induced adverse effects is generally considered low for patients with normal kidney function. However, healthcare providers carefully assess kidney function before administering GBCAs and choose appropriate agents based on individual patient factors to minimize potential risks. Ongoing research continues to explore the long-term implications of gadolinium exposure.
