Föstum is a term used in speculative biology and worldbuilding to denote a class of luminescent, fungus-like organisms that form interconnected subterranean networks in temperate forests. In the imagined ecosystem, föstum colonies consist of small, scale-like sporocarps supported by a mycelial mat that extends several meters below the litter layer. They are not classified within real fungal lineages but are described as convergent, saprotrophic and sometimes mutualistic with tree roots, contributing to soil aggregation and nutrient cycling.

Föstum typically appear as faint, blue-green glows visible through moist leaf litter at night. The fruiting structures are short-lived and emerge during periods of high humidity, releasing bioluminescent spores that drift through the understorey.
