A förrättningsansökan is a formal application submitted to a Swedish authority, most commonly Lantmäteriet (the Swedish Mapping, Cadastral and Land Registration Authority), to initiate a legal process related to real estate. This process is known as a "förrättning," which translates to an official measure or proceeding.

The purpose of a förrättningsansökan is to request that Lantmäteriet undertake specific actions concerning land and property. These actions can include a wide range of matters such as establishing or modifying property boundaries, creating or altering easements (rights of way or other rights affecting a property), dividing or merging properties, or resolving disputes over property rights.

The application must clearly state the purpose of the requested förrättning and identify the properties and individuals involved. It typically requires detailed information about the current situation and the desired outcome. Depending on the complexity of the case, additional documentation, such as maps, surveys, or agreements, may need to be submitted along with the application.

Once a förrättningsansökan is deemed complete and formally accepted, Lantmäteriet will initiate the förrättning process.
