Fællesarealet is a Danish term referring to the parts of a building that are owned collectively and intended for shared use by all residents. In multi-occupancy housing such as andelsboligforeninger and ejerforeninger, fællesarealet is distinct from the private boligarealer. It encompasses spaces not allocated to a single dwelling: stairwells and corridors, entrances and lobbies, lifts, technical rooms, shared laundry and storage facilities, bike rooms, courtyards, gardens, parking areas, and roof terraces or basements used by residents.
