Fugleskitt is a Scandinavian term for bird droppings, referring to the combined excrement and urine produced by birds. It typically appears as a white, pasty substance with darker fecal components; the white portion is uric acid, the primary nitrogenous waste in birds, which differs chemically from the urea-rich urine of mammals.

Physically and chemically, fugleskitt can be mildly to strongly acidic and abrasive, and prolonged contact with painted surfaces, vehicle finishes, stonework, metal sculptures and building materials can cause staining, etching or corrosion. Fresh deposits are easier to remove with water and mild detergent; hardened deposits may require specialized cleaning products or careful mechanical removal to avoid surface damage.

Ecologically, bird droppings are a source of nutrients, notably nitrogen and phosphorus, and contribute to soil fertility and nutrient cycling. They also play a role in seed dispersal and can indicate bird presence and population density in an area.

Health considerations include the potential presence of bacteria, parasites and fungal spores in droppings; dried material can release dust that poses inhalation risks. Standard precautions include avoiding direct contact, using gloves and masks when cleaning accumulated droppings, and wetting deposits before removal to reduce aerosolization.
