Frontpassagen is a mixed‑use commercial complex located in the Moabit district of Berlin, Germany. The site occupies the block bounded by Oranienburger Straße, Brandenburgische Straße and Nonnendammallee, and it was developed as part of a broader urban renewal program aimed at revitalising former industrial and railway lands in the early 2000s. Construction began in 2005 and the complex opened to the public in 2009.

The building’s design combines retail space on the lower levels with office and residential units above. Ground‑floor tenants include a range of small‑to‑medium sized shops, cafés and service providers, while a larger anchor store occupies a prominent position at the southern entrance. The upper floors comprise approximately 45,000 m² of office space, primarily occupied by businesses in the technology, media and creative sectors, and about 120 residential apartments that cater to a mix of families and young professionals.

Architecturally, Frontpassagen reflects contemporary German urban design trends, featuring a glass façade that offers visibility into the interior atrium and facilitates natural lighting. The structure incorporates sustainable building practices such as energy‑efficient heating, rainwater harvesting and a green roof that provides insulation and contributes to local biodiversity.

The complex is well served by public transport, with the Berlin U‑Bahn line U9 at the nearby Westhafen station and several tram and bus lines within walking distance. Bicycle parking and a car‑sharing station encourage alternative commuting options. Since its inauguration, Frontpassagen has been cited as a successful example of mixed‑use development that integrates commercial activity with residential life while contributing to the regeneration of Berlin’s former industrial fringe.
