Frekvenciaválasza, or frequency response, is a measure of how an electronic system or device, such as an audio amplifier, loudspeaker, or filter, affects the amplitude and phase of different frequencies in an input signal. It describes the system's behavior across a range of frequencies. A perfectly flat frequency response would mean that the system amplifies or attenuates all frequencies equally, preserving the original signal's tonal balance.

In audio systems, a flat frequency response is often desired for accurate reproduction of sound. However, in some applications, such as equalizers or acoustic treatments, a deliberately shaped frequency response is used to modify the sound. For loudspeakers, the frequency response is crucial for understanding how well it reproduces low bass notes, mid-range clarity, and high treble details. Deviations from a flat response can lead to perceived coloration or distortion of the sound.

Measuring frequency response typically involves feeding a series of pure tones, or sine waves, at different frequencies into the system and measuring the output amplitude and phase shift at each frequency. This data is often presented graphically as a frequency response curve, with frequency plotted on the horizontal axis and amplitude (usually in decibels) on the vertical axis. The phase response, which indicates the time delay introduced by the system at different frequencies, is also an important aspect of frequency response.
