Fourball, also known as better-ball or best-ball, is a golf match format played by two teams of two players. In fourball, each golfer plays their own ball on every hole, and the lower score of the two team members on a hole counts as the team’s score for that hole. The format emphasizes individual scoring within a team, allowing a partnership where one player can compensate for the other's mistakes.
