Fluffpulp is a coined term used in speculative materials discourse to describe a lightweight, fluffy fibrous pulp designed for cushioning, insulation, and experimental research. It is not an established industrial grade product, but a conceptual material intended to illustrate the behavior of highly lofted fiber mats under varying loads and environmental conditions.

It is typically imagined as derived from natural cellulose fibers or recycled textiles, processed into short, airy fibers and formed into a loose batt. Production methods would include pulping, mechanical refining to increase fibrillation, and air laying or carding to create a nonwoven fluff. Optional bio-based binders may be introduced to modulate strength without sacrificing loft.

Fluffpulp is characterized by very low density and high porosity, offering good cushioning and potential acoustic insulation. It tends to absorb moisture and relies on its fiber network for resilience, returning to near its original thickness after modest compression. Its performance depends on fiber source, processing, and any binders used.
