fiberready

Fiberready is a term used in telecommunications and real estate to indicate that a facility or premises has been prepared to support fiber-optic broadband services. In practice, a fiberready designation means the building or site has physical pathways, conduits, and spaces that can accommodate fiber cabling and termination hardware, such as a fiber demarcation point or a cabinet, and interior wiring that can accept an optical network terminal or other fiber-compatible equipment. It does not guarantee that fiber service is currently available; rather, it signals compatibility with fiber deployment.

Applications of the term are common in property development, commercial leasing, and municipal network planning. Developers

Differences from related terms are that fiber-ready focuses on readiness and potential rather than active service.
