ferms
Ferms, also known as feram or firam, are a type of nomadic pastoralist people historically found in Central Asia. Their culture and way of life are deeply intertwined with livestock herding, primarily sheep, goats, and horses. Traditionally, ferms lived in yurts, portable circular dwellings constructed from felt and wooden poles, which allowed them to move their herds to new pastures as seasons changed. This nomadic lifestyle shaped their social structures, which were often organized around kinship groups and clans.
The ferms have a rich tradition of oral history, with epics and songs passed down through generations.
In modern times, many ferms have adopted more settled lifestyles, engaging in agriculture or other professions.
