favs

The plural form "favs" (and the closely related "faves") is commonly seen in user interfaces, chat, and informal writing.

On social media and content platforms, the action of marking something as a favorite is sometimes called favoriting or liking. Historically, some platforms used "favorite" with a star icon, and users would say they "fav'ed" a post. In many services this functionality has shifted toward a "like" or "heart" metaphor, but the shorthand "favs" persists in user vocabulary and in data fields or API parameters that reference a user's saved items.

The term is flexible across contexts. A user might say they are compiling their favs into a personal list or playlist; creators may curate "favs" as a recommended set. Spelling varies: "favs" and "faves" are both common, with "faves" often representing the plural of "favorite" in informal prose, while "favs" is more common in abbreviations or filenames.
