Color stabilization relies on slowing or preventing photodegradation and oxidative reactions that alter chromophores. Some stabilizers pose health or ecological concerns, driving the development of eco-friendly and bio-based alternatives and stricter compliance with regulations like REACH. Ongoing research in farbstabil focuses on safer UV absorbers, metal-free HALS, and additives from natural sources, as well as dye chemistry approaches that enhance intrinsic color stability.
