faksiviestintään
Faksiviestintään, often shortened to "faksi," refers to the transmission of documents over telephone lines using a fax machine. This technology allows for the sending and receiving of scanned paper documents, such as letters, invoices, or photographs. A fax machine scans the document page by page, converting the image into an electronic signal that is then transmitted. The receiving fax machine decodes this signal and prints a copy of the original document.
The concept of fax transmission dates back to the mid-19th century with the invention of the phototelegraph.
Despite the rise of digital communication, fax technology, or faksiviestintään, still finds use in certain sectors.
