Eteenipropyleeni, often abbreviated as EPM or EPR, is a synthetic rubber copolymer. It is formed by the polymerization of ethylene and propylene monomers. This combination results in a saturated polymer backbone, which imparts excellent resistance to ozone, weathering, and heat. EPM elastomers are typically terpolymers, incorporating a third monomer, often a diene, to allow for vulcanization using sulfur-based curing systems. However, non-sulfur curable EPMs also exist.
The properties of EPM can be tailored by adjusting the ratio of ethylene to propylene and the
