Analytical methods such as infrared spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance are used to identify esters. Infrared spectra show a characteristic carbonyl stretch around 1735–1750 cm−1, and NMR provides diagnostic signals for the ester moiety, helping to confirm structure and purity.
