Esinduskohtadele is Estonian terminology referring to the destination of diplomatic representation, i.e., the representative offices of a state or organization abroad. In practice, esinduskohtadele encompasses embassies, consulates-general, consulates and other official missions that perform political, economic, cultural and consular work on behalf of the sending state. The term emphasizes the outward-facing aspect of diplomacy and the channel through which a state engages with foreign governments, citizens abroad, businesses and civil society.

Diplomatic missions operate under international law. The Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations (1961) and, where applicable, the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations (1963) set the framework for the status, privileges and immunities of diplomats and consular staff, as well as the inviolability of diplomatic premises and confidential communications. Host states grant certain protections to these missions to ensure effective communication with the sending state, while missions respect host country laws and territorial integrity.

In Estonia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs oversees the network of Estonian representations abroad. These esinduskohtadele carry out tasks such as protecting Estonian citizens abroad, issuing visas or documents, promoting trade and cultural ties, gathering political and economic information, and coordinating aid during crises. They also handle public diplomacy and support Estonian interests in political dialogue with foreign partners.

Typical types of esinduskohtadele include national embassies in capitals, consulates in major cities, and specialized missions (such as trade or cultural representations). They form a global network that supports bilateral relations, international cooperation, and the welfare of citizens abroad.
