elvyttämisoikeudet
Elvyttämisoikeudet refers to the rights and ethical considerations surrounding cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and other life-saving measures. In Finland, like in many other countries, these rights are guided by principles of patient autonomy and the duty to provide care. When a person loses consciousness and breathing, medical professionals have a duty to attempt resuscitation if there is a reasonable chance of success. However, this duty is not absolute and can be overridden by a patient's prior expressed wishes.
Individuals have the right to refuse medical treatment, including CPR, even if it could prolong their life.
