Elitistiska is a Swedish adjective derived from the word "elitis". It describes a belief system or attitude characterized by the idea that a select group of people, often based on perceived superiority in intelligence, talent, wealth, or social standing, are inherently more deserving or capable than others. This concept can manifest in various social, political, and cultural contexts.

An elitist perspective often involves the conviction that society should be led or significantly influenced by these chosen individuals. It can lead to the formation of exclusive groups or circles where membership is restricted, and norms are established that reinforce the perceived distinctions between the elite and the general populace.
