Elektrofotografisk refers to a technology that utilizes the principles of electrostatics and light to create images. This process is commonly known as xerography, and it forms the basis of most modern photocopiers and laser printers.

The core of the electrofotografisk process involves a photoconductive drum. This drum is initially charged uniformly. When an image is projected onto or scanned across the drum, the areas exposed to light lose their electrical charge due to the photoconductive nature of the material, which becomes conductive when illuminated. The areas that remain in shadow retain their charge, forming an electrostatic latent image.

Next, a dry ink powder called toner is applied. The toner particles are electrostatically attracted to the charged areas of the drum, adhering to the latent image. The toner is then transferred from the drum to a sheet of paper, which has also been electrostatically charged, usually with an opposite polarity to the charged image areas on the drum.

Finally, the toner on the paper is fused into place, typically by heat and pressure, creating a permanent copy of the original image. This electrofotografisk process allows for the rapid and accurate reproduction of documents and images.
