eikovalenteista
Eikovalenteista refers to a phenomenon observed in certain chemical bonds where the electron distribution is not perfectly symmetrical, leading to a partial separation of charge. This contrasts with purely covalent bonds, where electrons are shared equally between two atoms. In eikovalenteista, one atom in the bond exerts a stronger pull on the shared electrons than the other. This difference in electronegativity causes the electron cloud to be denser around the more electronegative atom, creating a slight negative charge (delta minus, δ-) on that atom and a slight positive charge (delta plus, δ+) on the less electronegative atom.
This unequal sharing of electrons results in a polar covalent bond, which is a type of eikovalenteista.
