Duplihikihi is a town and local government area in the inland lowlands of the fictional country of Naharai. It covers about 42 square kilometers and has a population of roughly 7,800 residents.

Geographically, the town sits in a broad river valley between two low ridges, near the confluence of two streams. The climate is temperate, with warm summers and cool winters, and an average annual rainfall around 1,100 millimeters.

Duplihikihi was founded in the mid-19th century as a farming settlement. The name is of indigenous origin; the precise meaning is uncertain. The town developed with milling and timber work and later gained road improvements and a regional market that helped sustain growth.

The contemporary economy is diversified, with dairy farming, orchards, small-scale timber processing, and local services. The population is predominantly English-speaking, with recognition of an indigenous language in cultural programs. Education is served by two primary schools and one secondary campus.

Cultural and civic facilities include a local museum, a public library, and a weekly farmers’ market. The community hosts the Two Rivers Festival, which features crafts, music, and food stalls that reflect the town’s agricultural heritage.

Transportation relies on a regional highway linking to larger towns. There is a small airstrip for general aviation, while the now-defunct railway line to the coast is remembered in local lore.

Notable residents include longtime farmer and community advocate Mara Rata and poet and teacher Lindel Kori.
