duktilisilla
Duktilisilla is a genus of small, soft-bodied marine polychaete annelids found in shallow coastal habitats. First described in 2004 by marine biologists Helena A. Herman and Lin Kline, the genus currently comprises two species, Duktilisilla flexilis and Duktilisilla plana. Members are distinguished by an elongated, translucent body up to about 15 millimeters long, a smooth prostomium, and simple parapodial chaetae. The cuticle is highly elastic, enabling the animal to compress and stretch within narrow burrows.
Habitat and ecology: Duktilisilla species inhabit fine sand and mud in intertidal and shallow subtidal zones,
Distribution and taxonomy: Records come from temperate to tropical coasts of the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific
