The primary advantage of ductless systems is their flexibility and energy efficiency. Because they don't involve the air leaks and heat loss associated with ductwork, they can be more efficient than central systems. They also offer zoned climate control, allowing different areas of a home or building to be heated or cooled independently. This is achieved by installing multiple indoor units, each controlled by its own thermostat.

Ductless systems are particularly useful for additions, renovations, or older homes where installing ductwork would be difficult or cost-prohibitive. They are also a popular choice for server rooms or other spaces that require precise temperature control. Installation is generally less invasive than traditional HVAC systems. Maintenance typically involves cleaning or replacing air filters in the indoor units and ensuring the outdoor unit is free from debris.
