Droging is a term used in some Dutch-language contexts to describe the process of removing moisture from materials, i.e., drying. In English, the more common general term is drying, but droging can appear in technical literature or industry-specific texts within Dutch-speaking regions. The concept encompasses a range of methods and applications where reducing water content is essential to stability, shelf life, or usability.

Methods of drying cover a spectrum from simple to advanced. Conventional air drying uses ambient or forced air at moderate temperatures. Thermal methods include oven or kiln drying, which apply heat to speed moisture removal. Vacuum drying lowers the surrounding pressure to facilitate drying at lower temperatures. Moisture content is routinely measured with moisture meters or laboratory methods to ensure process consistency. The term is primarily used in Dutch-language contexts, while English-speaking industries typically use “drying” as the equivalent concept.
