donatário

Donatário is a Portuguese term meaning the recipient of a donation or grant from a sovereign or higher authority. Historically, in the Portuguese empire it described the holder of a capitania hereditária, a large land grant along the coast of Brazil awarded by the Crown in the 16th century.
