Domestiek is a Dutch term that can function as an adjective meaning relating to the home or domestic life and as a noun in specific contexts. It is derived from the French domestique, from Latin domesticus. In modern usage, the word is relatively formal and less common than the more everyday huishoudelijk for home-related matters.
