In geometry, a dimension indicates the number of independent directions in which movement or measurement is possible. A line is one-dimensional, a plane is two-dimensional, and ordinary space is three-dimensional. In relativity, time is combined with the three spatial dimensions to form a four-dimensional space-time fabric.
