The term diastereomerically is an adverb derived from the noun diastereomers, which are stereoisomers that are not related by a mirror image. In stereochemistry, two (or more) molecules that share a common carbon skeleton yet differ in the spatial arrangement of at least one stereocenter and are not enantiomers are called diastereomers.
